Alex Poythress of the Kentucky Wildcats gets a face full of net after dunking vs. Duke.

It can be dangerous playing above the rim. Just ask Kentucky’s Alex Poythress.

Poythress, a 6-8 senior forward for the Wildcats, got his tooth caught on the net as he finished off an alley oop dunk Tuesday night.

OOPS! CELTICS’ CROWDERS SINKS FULL COURT INBOUNDS PASS

Fortunately for Poythress and Kentucky’s student dental plan, it was just a quick snag and no damage was done. But it definitely falls in the “haven’t seen this before” category.

The play came late in No. 2 Kentucky’s 74-63 win over fifth-ranked Duke in the Champions Classic in Chicago.

Poythress came off the bench to score nine points. He also grabbed seven rebounds in 30 minutes of action.

Next time he probably won’t be looking to take a bite out of the net.
