Vanderbilt’s Josh Henderson hits 80-foot buzzer-beater

Forget rise and fire, this was more like turn and chuck.

Vanderbilt center Josh Henderson hit the oddest shot of the night Tuesday, heaving the ball a good 80 feet — from the far free-throw line to the hoop on the other end of the court — to beat the buzzer and give the Commodores a 40-35 halftime lead on the Gators in Gainsville.

“I just drew that up,” Vandy coach Kevin Stallings joked in his halftime interview with the SEC Network.
