Tuukka Rask’s mask for the Winter Classic at Gillette features Patriots QB Tom Brady.
Tom Brady will be featured prominently during Friday’s NHL Winter Classic at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.
Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask has a new mask ready to go for the outdoor game against the Montreal Canadiens at the home of the four-time Super Bowl champion Patriots.
Brady, who normally calls the Gillette Stadium field home, will still be there despite the fact that the turf has been replaced by an ice rink for the NHL’s annual New Year’s classic.
The Patriots star is featured on the left side of Rask’s mask. The other side also has a Patriot theme with tight end Rob Gronkowski and kicker Stephen Gostkowski being featured prominently.
Given the success of the Patriots at home this season (7-1), it’s no wonder Rask is trying to borrow a little of New England’s magic for Friday’s Atlantic Division clash.
Brady was thrilled to have a role in the Winter Classic.
“Thanks Tuukka for featuring me on your mask today!” Brady wrote in a Facebook post on Friday morning. “In your honor, I’ll be rocking your pads this Sunday in Miami. Happy new year and go Bruins! #WinterClassic”
Canadiens netminder Mike Condon, a Massachusetts native, also featured Brady and the Patriots on his mask. The back of Condon’s mask included an image of Brady, the Patriots’ four Lombardi trophies and Bill Belichick’s “Do your job” mantra.
