Oilers' Darnell Nurse's parents cheer him on during fight

Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse played in front of his hometown crowd on Thursday night and put on a show for his cheering parents — with his fists.

The rookie 21-year-old focused in on his goal during the game against the Ottawa Senators in the form of forward Max McCormick, as the two went at it near the net during the third period.

Nurse was clearly trying to impress his parents, who were in the stands for their son’s triumphant return to Hamilton, Ontario.

Richard Nurse, a former Canadian Football League wide receiver, and his mother Cathy were on their feet clapping and cheering as the defenseman went after his opponent.

Nurse’s uncle, former NFL star quarterback Donovan McNabb, is probably just as proud.
