Dr. Oz Day-Off Diet: Famous Doctor Says ‘It’s Going To Transform The Way You Lose Weight’

Dr. Oz Day-Off Diet Recommendation

The Dr. Oz Day-Off Diet is a new approach shared by the doctor himself. As 2016 kicks off, people are eager to lose weight and get in great shape. It’s one of the most common New Year’s resolutions that people have.

Dr. Oz wrote about the Day-Off Diet in a report that was published on Today. The famous TV doctor said this diet is “going to transform the way you lose weight.” This diet isn’t about “deprivation,” Dr. Oz promises.

Most diets have a tendency to ban foods people enjoy, which leads them to crave those foods even more. Dieters then cave and overindulge on those foods, abandoning their diet plan altogether. Dr. Oz says the Day-Off Diet will help you to stay successful long-term.

The doctor reveals that he thought it was time to leave behind the traditional way of looking at how diets work by “giving you the power to choose what you eat.”

With the Dr. Oz Day-Off Diet, there are a “number of healthy and satisfying meals that also help you meet your weight-loss goals. But the real key of the diet is the day off you get.”

Dr. Oz introduces a new way of thinking about dieting.

He says, “Once a week, you can take a day off from your diet to indulge in a few cravings. You don’t have to forgo decadent desserts or your favorite pizza place. Instead, you will learn how to cut down on unhealthy foods in your diet and instead, eat them sparingly. This will make the diet more sustainable over time.”

As crazy as it sounds to indulge in the foods you crave, Dr. Oz says this method of weight loss “really does work.” He explains that most people who avoid certain foods for the majority of the week consume less calories per day — shifting the way they think about food. On the day that you indulge, you’ll consume less calories on your off-diet days than what you would’ve before beginning the diet.

Dr. Oz continues that the day-off diet aids in keeping people motivated to stick to a healthier meal plan. It also gives you a chance to “forgive” yourself for eating what you craved.

One of the great results seen from participants in this diet had to do with them losing weight whether or not they exercised. This was compounded by the fact that a lot of people in the test run felt more motivated to exercise even if it wasn’t necessary. As Dr. Oz notes, this is great news, as exercise definitely helps keep those extra pounds off in the long run.

Dr. Oz says the problem with a lot of diets is that when meals don’t satisfy you, it’s easy to go off track and consume bad snacks. He explains that it’s okay to snack, but it’s about what kind of snacks you eat.

Dr. Oz says, “For the Day-Off Diet, you’re going to be focusing on healthy foods that contain fats called monounsaturated fatty acids (or MUFAs). Great examples of snacks you can enjoy are nuts, avocados, nut butters, olives, and some seeds like pumpkin or sunflower seeds. These foods provide a healthy bridge that actually assists with your weight loss while helping to balance your diet.”

Coffee drinkers will be happy to hear that they can still enjoy their morning cup of joe. It has shown health benefits and has proven to kick in weight loss. Dr. Oz calls it a “great addition to the Day-Off Diet.” He says it’s best to “stick to plain, unsweetened nut milks and use stevia as a sweetener instead of sugar. This gives you your healthy caffeine boost without the extra calories that come along with cream and sugar.”
