New year, new look for Brian Urlacher.
The former Bears linebacker popped up on local TV in Chicago Tuesday morning sporting a full head of hair. Urlacher has worn his hair short dating back to his days at the University of New Mexico, and even had the cue ball look late in his career with Chicago, which he says was the result of being tired of trying to hide two troublesome bald spots.
Bye bye, bald Brian. Ex-Bears linebacker Urlacher gets hair transplant surgery.
So, Urlacher got hair transplant surgery earlier this year, he told Dan Patrick on Tuesday, after a buddy had the procedure and left Urlacher with hair envy.
“I went and got it done, and there’s no scars with this procedure, so even if I didn’t like it I could still shave my head bald,” he said on The Dan Patrick Show. “If I thought I looked like a freak, I could still shave it bald and there’d be no consequences.”
The look takes some getting used to, and even Urlacher admits that it’s a work in progress.
“I’m still in the process of trying to get a hairdo,” Urlacher told Patrick. “My hair goes in so many different directions. I’m going to have a hard time picking out a ‘do that looks good for me.”
